Graphical artifact with automation lane

…just kidding.

But I’ve noticed a graphical artifact - when unfolding and hiding automation lanes with a mouse everything is OK, but when I do it with a keyboard shortcut a small graphical glitch remains:

That’s on MacOS (Tahoe).

Clickbait!

Not getting that here though.

Which keyboard shortcut you’re using?

I only use a show automation shortcut which is =

Yes, but the issue shows up upon closing the lane with a shortcut, not revealing it.

Ok let me try. What is your shortcut setup. I will try it here.

I’ve been using “Folding: Toogle selected Track” because this one works as a toggle, so one key shows & hides automation lanes.

Perhaps that’s the issue right there?

I can’t find an open/close automation in keycommands and I’ve never used the “Folding: Toggle Track” Let me find how you set that up and I’ll give it a go on my cubase.

EDIT: Sorry I don’t know how you applied that to automation toggle.

You don’t “apply it”. I simply set [A] key to do that command and whenever you select a track and tap [A] it will unfold existing automation, then tapping [A] will hide them.

That’s all

I set it to = and getting no lag with open and close.

My post wasn’t about the lag, but about the graphical glitch which is also clearly visible on your video

This ^^^ element doesn’t show up when you close the automation lanes with a mouse.

Wasn’t there a slightly different video you had where it was lagging? It’s just hidden when the mouse is not on it. Here is one with the mouse directly over the the top.

Yes, so it’s a harmless and irrelevant glitch. Totally minor thing & something that’ll be fixed, I’m sure.

Hasn’t it always been hidden like this though when not being touched or hovered over?

No. This vertical column going through all the lanes belonging to a track is new, added in v15. And it isn’t fully redrawn when using keyboard shortcut instead of GUI button.

That’s it.

A tiny visual glitch

Ok :+1:

Yeah, I think the new folder color-inheriting system in Cubase 15 is nice, but it doesn’t look as polished as it should. Feels like a little more attention could make it great.

I reported something related to this as well.

That’s right, if you use the keyboard shortcut (Folding: Toggle Selected Track), a piece of the horizontal black line at the bottom is missing when you hide lanes, however, that doesn’t happen with the mouse.
