Graphics2d crashes again + temp solution (12.0.60)

Temporary solution:
Install Cubase 11 and get graphics2d.dll from its folder. Save your existing graphics2d.dll somewhere where you’ll forget it and copy over this one. Then can uninstall Cubase 11.

For advanced users: you can open packed .exe with something like Far Manager, find installer.msi and manually extract graphics2d.dll without installing Cubase 11.

Why this happens? Probably your video device isn’t fully supported by Steinberg’s graphics. Why? Probably your manufacturer’s video drivers were replaced by Windows update, because Microsoft “knows better” everything about your hardware (especially you have OEM win coming with your hardware). So if video device manufacturer knows something (everything) about gaming needs (I suppose Cubase fits in this category), Microsoft “knows better” that your computer is for writing documents, watching pictures and making payments only.

So try to use earlier driver and replace current -
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 12\graphics2d.dll
…or buy a bit serious hardware. I have such problem only in Cubase 12 and only on Laptop (AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx), but not on big desktop (i7 11700kf, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti).

Blinking heck , this is getting pretty dicey to update , this Graphics2d.dll is causing major concerns

Once replaced, it works good. I’m doing this since previous build from November 2022,

I read that this problem was reported by others also in Cubase 11, but it works for me without any issue on the same laptop. This graphics2d.dll problem started only with Cubase 12. For example its happening, when hovering mouse over note events in Key Editor while project is playing.
