Grey Noteheads when condensing?

On the first page of the score (measure 300) excerpt, the Trombones I and II are showing grey noteheads and grey rests. On the second page, the trumpets are doing the same thing. Both items are condensed.

The uncondensed view (Galley) does not show this.

I can change the color of the noteheads, but the rests will not change no matter what I try.

Yes, this is by design. If you don’t like it, turn it off from View > Note and Rest Colors > Condensed Music.
