I have used GA3 forever. I still have the DVD. But I just moved to a new PC and I can’t create the JBridger .64 file because my eLicenser is not recognised on my new PC. GA3 is the best GA for me. I use it as my goto metronome when I’m laying down drum tracks. I own GA5 but I never use it except as a sampler. Before I log a support ticket, is there any way this is going to work? Can it be transferred? I own so much Steinberg software. But right now, I want GA3 back.
I assume you have a USB eLicenser, because if you used a Soft eLicenser, that will not be recreated anymore.
Did you install the eLicenser Control Center on the new PC? It is not part of the automatic installation of the Download Assistant anymore.
Thanks for the reply. Yes I have a USB dongle and it’s quite new - I replaced mine just before they canned it :-/ The install I have is from the Steinberg archives and it installs the software for the USB but the system just refuses to acknowledge it. It’s a new PC. The light on the dongle comes on for a second and then that’s it. Since it’s not seen by GA3, it won’t run at all.
What does it mean, it refuses to acknoledge it? Do you get an error during the installation, if yes what error is it?
Do you have the latest eLCC downloaded, or a version you already had?
This sounds like a hardware problem, have you tried different USB ports?
You can check the Windows event log to see if there are any errors documented, that may point to the cause of your problem.
Thanks for your encouragement. The install of eLicensor as part of GA3 (latest) from Steinberg does not work on my system. The version of eLicenser here fixed the problem: https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/360008841379-eLicenser-Control-Center-License-Management-Details-Downloads.
