Groove agent dum loop regions trigger too early

I can’t figure out what the problem is.

I have a project with a fixed tempo and want to add a drum loop from Groove Agent to a slash region. I input the correct midi trigger note and the loop plays back, but it is always slightly before the beat and the first note of the loop gets “cut” away. Hence it is out of sync with the rest of the playback (which is all driven by the new Iconica sketch).

The buffer size it at 64. I use the latest Dorico version.

Can you please cut down your project to the smallest chunk that still reproduces the problem, and attach it here so we can take a look?

I stripped the project down to the part with the drum loop. The strange thing is, now the drum loop appears to be “behind” the beat, in the whole project it was in “front”.

Also the fill in the 3rd and 4th bar somehow starts on beat 5 out of 8 in the Groove Agent window and then restarts on beat 1 in the 4th bar, so the crescendo is interrupted.

Hi @LeoW I found that if you deactivate Sync to Beat for all the Patterns Pads (click on every pattern and deactivate this option) Groove Agent plays with the same Beat as the Dorico Project, and sounds in synch.

I see that in your Groove Agent setup the BPM seems to be 135BPM while the Dorico Project is on 126BPM. So there is some inconsistency if you have that option active*. (Sorry I am relative new in Groove agent and don’t know if there is some global adjustments so that the BPM between GA and Dorico will be automatically synchronized…, but with this manual adjustment seems to work).

*I have found a post that is probably related:

…and this (but as I understand GA will not jet synch with Dorico BPM?..):
