Just to make it triple-clear, Steinberg Download Manager won’t install the standalone version. Kind of weird. The workaround I used, based on the answers in this thread:
- In Steinberg Download Manager, reinstall Groove Agent 5. Once done, the option of “locate storage location” is enabled.
- Select “show storage location”. That opens Windows Explorer and shows the installation program for Groove Agent 5.
- Double-click to start it. The dialog ends with a message saying Groove Agent 5 is already installed (surprise!).
- Select Install again. This will provide the option to select installation of the standalone app; see screen shot.
