Steinberg, you are spoiling us. First Cubase 14.0.20, and now this. Thanks a million!

I’m new to everything so stupid questions follow. I’m using Windows on ARM BTW and have paid for Cubase Artist.

  1. How do I check the version of Groove Agent that I have installed to see if I have 5.2.20 (or should I worry, does it automatically update?)
  2. Groove Agent (SE) versus not-SE - I assume not SE is better than SE? Is this something you pay for?
  3. I have been wanting to play with orchestral percussion but for the life of me cannot find this inside Groove Agent. Is there such a thing?

My next stupid questions :upside_down_face: … I see 14.0.20 says it supports Windows on ARM, which I have…

  1. How do I upgrade from Cubase Artist 13 (preview) to Cubase 14.0.20
  2. Does it cost anything to do the upgrade?

Cubase 14 was already released when I purchased Cubase 13, and I did so because 14 wasn’t available for Windows on ARM.

Under complementary downloads it says "Cubase Artist 13 Windows on Arm Preview:

I cannot locate a “Cubase Artist 14 Windows on Arm”, it only has “Cubase Artist 14” and when you select that it does not show an Arm option:

  1. Version: click the large GROOVE AGENT letters in the upper left
  2. SE = “Studio Essentials” (as I recall) and does not have all the functions of the heftier version, which costs more.
  3. It has lots of drum kits. I’m uncertain about orchestral percussion, haven’t looked for that yet. My guess is that it’s available, but uncertain about that.

Groove Agent 5 SE is included with Cubase. Groove Agent 5 is a paid-for virtual drum instrument from Steinberg with some more features. Both are very good. You can buy extra drum libraries for Groove Agent from Steinberg - have a look at the Steinberg website. I don’t know whether GA SE has orchestral percussion or whether you have buy that as an add-on library.

If you’re running Windows on Arm, I guess you know you have the latest version of Groove Agent SE if it actually runs ( as I understand it only the latest version is fully compatible with WoA)

Steve

As far as I am aware we do not have big orchestral percussion included in Groove Agent SE. But, if you own a version of Cubase 13 you also have Iconica Sketch in HALion Sonic which comes with a lot of orchestral percussion. If you want to have something specific for Groove Agent there is “Scoring Percussion” available for purchase. Feel free to check this out here :

Regarding the Cubase Update: if you have purchased version 13 at a time where Cubase 14 was already released, you might be able to make use of the Grace Period. Please have a deeper look here:

The download for Cubase 14 Windows on Arm should also not be separated anymore under complementary products. You have selected your Operating System and just can download Cubase 14 from the Cubase tab.

Iconica Sketch, which comes with Cubase 13, has orchestral percussion. Check it out: https://youtu.be/7BdvFNeaqd0
