Groove Agent - Set Exclusive Groups - When using Key Range

Hello.

I understand how Exclusive Groups work in Cubase, but one thing I haven’t figure out is how to set them up for multiple pads when using the “key range”.

So the key range is there for us to be able to play samples chromatically and it’s pretty much straight forward. However, once you put a sample on a single pad, and then enable “key range” those new assigned pads within the key range are not selectable. Thus you cannot highlight them to put them in the same group.

EG: I have an 808 kick sample that I want to play chromatically. Being an 808 kick “bass” I want it to be mono and thus should put all that range in the same exclusive group so they choke each other. I have no way of doing this that I can figure out. Probably something dumb on my end so please enlighten me.

Thanks,

Comb

Got it..

I had the misconception that when you change the poly from 4 to 1 where the root sample is that you are telling groove agent (as a whole) to be mono or non polyphonic. However that poly setting on the individual pad is for that pad only and not groove agent as a whole.

Should I delete this post or leave it?

Leave it. It might be useful to someone else in future who has the same question.
