Hi All
I have noticed in other DAWs such as Ableton they seem to have folders with lots of grooves you can apply to you midi etc, this is to add swing etc to the drums.
Does Cubase 14 have this feature? I would have thought many people would have asked for this over the years.
They did, back in the day. They were quite useful and easier to use than making your own like we do now.
I think there was some IP issues with the solution Steinberg purchased (too much money to renew the license? ) so the feature got left behind. A drag as they were great.
There were a couple of threads about it here and a great user on the form got the old groove templates into a cubase project.
I don’t think there is a file repository here so if you send me your email I can send you a project with the Groove Templates.
Live has a different concept of changing the grid and utilizing grooves. It is more cumbersome than Cubase.
All the swing presets of Live are handled by a single parameter in Cubase’s Quantize Panel
The Quantize Panel will change its parameters depending on the source material being used for the groove.
E.g. this is what it looks like if a self-made groove preset is used:
For getting some of the old groove presets that used to be available within Cubase @noise will be able to supply them to you.
