Grouping playing techniques

I’m used to using Group Dynamics to align markings and assumed Group Playing Techniques would work similarly. According to the manual, that seems to be the case, but when I try to align the closed hi-hat symbols on the final two eighth notes with the preceding ones, nothing happens.

Am I missing a step, or is this a known limitation? Any advice would be much appreciated!

For info, the closed hi-hat symbol was generated using Shift+P then selecting Rim shot.

Might be that it’s percussion which works a little differently.
Not ideal, but you could use the y offset in Engrave mode.

Thanks for confirming - much appreciated. I’ll add the “Feature Request” tag to this thread in the hope that this can be considered for a future update. @Lillie_Harris, it might be helpful to others if the manual makes explicit the slight limitation of this grouping functionality with drum kit..

Off the top of my head so this might not be right, but is this a technique that can repeat its signs at each notehead automatically if you give it the required duration? Ie one playing technique that spans several notes?

Not by default.

Hi Lillie,

The example I prepared was simply meant to illustrate the issue, rather than reflect how a part would actually be notated in practice.

It would be great if, in a future version, playing techniques in drum kits could also be auto-aligned using the Group Playing Techniques functionality. At the moment, it feels a bit confusing to have the command available in this context when it doesn’t currently have any effect.
