Guitar Pre Bends in Dorico 5 not showing correctly

I have spent half the day learning how to use guitar bends in Dorico 5 and cannot get the pre-

bends to show as I want, or even logically. I am attaching a Dorico file + image picture, which shows the problem. I want to use a pre-bend, first bending fret 5 on string 2 up a half tone (from E to F) and then release it (without re-picking) to back to fret 5 (E). There are two problems:

  1. When I pre-bend a half tone, the released note does not show in brackets, which usually happens when I bend a tone (not always as can be seen here at the end of bar one).
  2. When bending a half-step pre bend, the note from which the bend began should appear as a small bracketed note on the notation stave. It does when I pre band a tone, but not when I bend a half tone step. Instead, the small bracketed note shows an F natural, which is the note that I bend to, not the note from which I’ve bent from.
I’ll be grateful for some assistance and hope it’s not a bug in the program.

Hi,

I’m not familiar with electric guitar notation… but here I go anyway.

Regarding this point. In your file, the pre bend interval is defined as a perfect unison, so an F natural going to an F natural is what the program is displaying.

Change the definition to a minor second and you get:

is that not what you want to see?

Yes. Thanks. I missed the change to the minor second. The other problem, being that the half tones were not showing in brackets as were the tones, seems to have resolved itself automatically, but only after I’d saved and re-opened the score. Perhaps this is because I have upgraded to Dorico 6.
