hairpins in WRITE mode, override lock on note ?

if there is something that breaks my workflow is that hairpins are stuck to notes. Yes, I can go into ENGRAVE mode and move them but this does not reflect in write mode then which is not optimal.
Do I oversee something or how can I create a hairpin in between a running tied note group? If I move the whole “ff><ff” then start/enpoints also move.

You can enter hairpins with the caret. They don’t have to be locked to notes. You can also enter a hairpin that’s attached to notes, then use Shift+Alt+Arrow keys to lengthen and shorten, in Write mode.
