I just got halion 4 which was auto upgraded to 5 when I entered the activation.

Do i need to install 4 and then run the 5 upgrade or is it a new product?

If you received the upgrade to HALion 5, you most likely will have to install HALion 4 and update it to the latest 4.5.4. You can then update that to 5.01. This will ensure you have all the proper content etc installed.
