Can’t believe it, the only feature I really wanted (and the only reason I bought Kontakt for) since ages ago and it isn’t still implemented in Halion 5 
Thanks, but all that link does is give me a list of online distributors. There is nothing about buying online. Numerous people have encountered this issue with other SB products I have seen posts in the past.

I am excited by the new features, esp the MIDI output from the arp and drum patterns.
However, I would still like to see some upgrades to the actual sample part of the sampler, like an upgrade to the Halion Symphonic Orchestra and more diverse sampled instruments.
And the new instruments like the granular synth, mellotron and B3 look nice, but I would really like Steinberg to make a FM synth! I would rather have had that than two new subtractive synths.
well they kept this one a bit quiet didn’t they. Videos and demos look very nice. Love the Model-C Hammond simulation organ and HALiotron. Definitely an upgrade for me!!! 
Haupdate on Halion 5 looks about time! beat slicing is a must for any sampler and making it as simple as this gotta be a bonus. have 4.5 but rarely used -only to twist a sound or two by experimentation but hey… halion 5 looks as if its getting up to date.

hi all,
not sure if this is common. everytime I open Halion 5 stand alone my pc crashes. if i open cubase and then H5- all is fine so far. I know this is new and I had the same issue witH H4 when I installed it,
I have uninstalled and re-installed twice but H5 keeps carshing in stand alone mode. not a big complain but was wondering if anybody else was having this problem?
also, maybe just me and I missed something in the marketing of this product but, the VSTs instuments like BBox only appears in Halion sonic 2 and not H5? is this right? took me a while to suss this out and am having fun, But i did spend hours trying to load the new VST inst. in H5!!

BBox appears in my Halion 5 standalone, as well as in the VSTi version. Maybe there’s a problem in your installation.
If you are using Windows, be sure to install using the “run as administrator” option.
it must be your install as everything works correctly in stand alone mode and with Cubase , the only issue is the redraw size of the pitch and mod wheels when the keyboard is enlarged but apart from that it’s all so god damn perfect it’s surreal
B-Box should show up as an instrument in HALion 5, if you click on the top, left hand side of the mediabay portion of the program, for the instruments list drop down. You should clearly see the icon there to filter out all other instrument presets, but those for B-Box. If you are wanting the ‘blank’ drum pattern module however, it is not actually known as B-Box, but Drum Player, in case you are confused.
Installing the update with permission to be accessible by all users is also helpful advice from dorremifasol, otherwise, you may have issues seeing some content that does not properly get installed.

Don’t forget that the standalone instruments have “Preferences” just like Cubase. When you reinstall, they are not necessarily deleted or reset. You may need to delete them or drag the folder to your desktop and let the instrument rebuild them from scratch. If you look in the same folder where the Cubase preferences are you should see a folders there for HALion 5 Standalone.

Once again thanks guys.
I did as above - moved preferences + re-installed as administrator. now I see all instrument sets! Whereas before there was just one icon visible called “all instrument sets”, which when clicked produced nothing. this is in C7 with H5 as an instrument. all good now though been running H5 continuously for 5hrs now with16 slots filled with sounds and effects etc
one prob still occurring … H5 and H2 standalone crashes pc upon opening. Could be my pc or some bug, as H4 did the same before updates were released.
but more on the positive … a lot to discover and the feel is quite good, i have been occupied with discovering the ins and outs and am impressed.
Check your ultralite drivers , I had a similar problem with so old Motu driver that I had on my DAW not being used , it crashed WL every time I opened it , just a suggestion

Been a few days now. just thought it respectful to update.
Still have=ing issues with H5 and HS2 standalone. it is quite wierd really - have done all that I know so will not give up, but take a brek. I have been using H5 anHS2 within C7 and it ruuuuns like a dream. so not sure wots up with stanalone.

Just to say - the issues I had with H5/HS2 is now resolved! I think it had something to do with preferences and my audio interface. well - when I change the sample buffer to 256 then back up to 512, also 44k to 96k and back, trash preferences(again), seemed to do the trick… so far. Stand alone now works. nice.
must say no flaws - still amazed!
only problem now is - I have to learn to tear myself away from H5/HS2 an get some sleep!!
I’m moving to new windows 8 desktop. Installing up to date software as well as streamlining system.
Thinking about moving to Halion Sonic 2 or Halion 5, following positive reviews including on this forum.
Has anyone tried loading Kontakt nki files into Halion (or Sonic)? Is it easy and works well? This would help me migrate some favourite sounds, maybe get back to one workstation…hooray.
