Indeed. HALion 6 was not supported on Windows 7 when first released, but official support was added later - click here for confirmation.
You should not expect Windows 7 support in any future releases of Steinberg products; as many here are aware, there is no official Windows 7 support in Cubase 10.5 and some of the video features do not work on Windows 7.
You know, I suspected this happened. When I first entertained the idea of H6, it was not supported on W7 and that’s why I wrote it off. Although I found out later that it did work on 7, the requirements said otherwise. Later, when I was reading up on H6, I saw that it was now supported on 7.
Your post confirmed I wasn’t losing my memory.
