HALion 7 Instruments in Cubase 12 LE AI

After upgrading to Cubase 12 from an earlier version of Cubase, the VST instruments in the Media Bay do not play sound from the MIDI keyboard as they previously did unless the sound is loaded into a track.
The Audio Activity Meter shows that the MIDI input is working when an instrument is selected but there is no audio sound produced.
This slows down the work in a project considerably.
What’s the fix if any?

Do you have the latest HALion Sonic (SE) 7 installed, please? Do you have the latest Cubase (12.0.70) installed, please? Can you hear a preview of the audio samples from the MediaBay? Are you talking about the MediaBay in Cubase or in Halion Sonic, please?

I currently have Cubase LE AI Elements 12 version is 12.0.70 build 464 June16 2023.
It appears that I have HALION Sonic 7, version 7.0.10.332 64 bit May 4 2023 DS, Media Bay version 1.0.30.2047, which was downloaded as part of the Cubase 12 upgrade.
My Cubase 12 Media Bay shows VST Instruments / Synth/ HALION Sonic / VST Instruments 3.7.5 and VST Effects 3.7.4.
Also, under Cubase System Component Information /Program Plug-ins, it shows VST 2.x version 3.1.80.32 and Sampler Track version 2.1.2.180.
There are no instrument preview sounds from any instrument in the Media Bay panel since I upgraded from Cubase 9.5 to Cubase 12. I have to load an instrument into a track in order to hear the sound of that selection.

Also, this problem occurs in both Cubase Media Bay and in HALion Sonic 7.

What is the status of a fix for no preview sounds in Cubase 12 Elements Media Bay.?

I was able to solve this problem by deleting both Halion 7 and HALion Sonic 7 from my computer. I then found that the older HALion Sonic SE allows me to preview all the VST instrument sounds from the right panel Media group using Cubase 12 LE AI.
Hopefully Steinberg will develop a fix for this issue in Halion 7 or future versions.

To me it sounds like you have older HALion Sonic SE version installed. Could you check the version, please?

This is the reason. You have older HALion Sonic SE version installed (version 3), where is the bug not present.

So there is a bug present in Halion 7?
Will there be a notification sent when the bug is fixed?

I think so.

With every single release the is the Release Notes document. The fix would be mentioned there.

Its been the same waste of time for me…I dont know why they let us load HS7. Ive wasted a whole day searching the same thing. Every time Cubase upgrades someting big, I get stuck up somewhere or the other. even now it make me re actvate some products and I end up wasting so much time.
I will try to delete hs7
