I don’t understand how to create/add a MIDI controller interface in Cubase. Has anyone perhaps created a script that allows me to easily control HALion 7 with a Native Instruments keyboard (without Komplete Kontrol software)? I would be very grateful for that.
Why don’t I use the easiest way via KOMPLETE KONTROL (loading HALion as a plugin in KK)? Because KK unfortunately does not support “Note Expression” and you then have to work without this wonderful functionality.

26-01-18: Am I asking an extremely “stupid” question, or does nobody know the answer?
The question is definetely not stupid. However, it might be in the forum that does not get quite as much attention as the Cubase forum gets.
Much like Kontakt Halion has potentially too many parameters to make them all available to a host when run as a plugin. So it is up to the user to decide which of the many parameters should be made accessible by the host’s automation system.
This is done by right-clicking a parameter and selecting “Assign to New Automation” from the context menu.
I think then you must set up these assigned parameters in Cubase’s Remote Control Editor. I am not 100% sure about this one as I find this stuff quite confusing myself when it comes to Halion.
Afterwards the desired parameters should be available to both - the hosts track automation as well as an assignable parameter in MIDI Remote. The names in Midi Remote are just called Parameter 1 - 8 (if you chose to go with 8 parameters; you can have more if you like):
An example of a virtual analog synth. Distortion is assigned the first NE parameter.
For using Note Expression you don’t need to create a Midi Remote device. You can assign any midi controller, aftertouch or pitch bend as the input in the Left Zone of the midi editor:
Thank you for this detailed informations. I’ve already tried something similar. It would be enough for me if I could just map the 8 standard HALion controls. But somehow it’s not working the way I’d like.
Regarding “Note Expression”: It would be quite simple to use the KOMPLETE KONTROL keyboard: I load HALion into KOMPLETE KONTROL. The disadvantage, however, is that “Note Expression” is not supported by the KOMPLETE KONTROL software.
I’ll test Your suggestion when I get a chance. The problem is always: you actually want to make music, not deal with technical aspects
