Halion 8-Please Steal THIS!

In the 8 years developing A.T.S SKYFALL, I learned a LOT. Like a LOT a lot. Abandoning the use of the synths main filter. Building sounds that utilize 50 or more blocks of DSP effects. Dramatically altering Halions core sound. Remixing the entire factory library as well as many vendors. My M1 Max Mac Studio hates me.

I’m not trying to change the game or raise the bar. I’m going to break it.

SKYFALL is the Worlds First Seventh Generation Synthesizer-a DSP HYPER SYNTH. It’s the worlds only synthesizer with WARP TECHNOLOGY (Frequency Augmentation). It utilizes technologies that have never existed on a synthesizer before. After years of experimentation and refinements…I will say I find the results quite jarring.

Anyway…stealing. This is the SKYFALL interface. I designed it to be a little more appealing to my workflow. Halion’s ability to customize the interface is one of many reasons Halion is King.

So…move that interface around and make your OWN A.T.S SKYFALL! Cheers!

A Brief Description of Frequency Augmentation

SKYFALL’s WARP Engines are, in my humble opinion, a total game-changer. What is it, and how does it work? Dang, you’re nosy! Okay, fine, I’ll tell ya!

Imagine adding this to your sounds:

  1. An expensive high-end SUPER TWEETER.
  2. A silk-dome tweeter for pristine mids.
  3. An 8" woofer for rich, full bass.
  4. A 5" subwoofer* to bring the thunder.

These are accessed through the normal sends in Halion. Want earth-shaking low-end bass on a channel? Simply insert the GRAVITY WARP SEND, and the WARP programming targets only that specific frequency range. You can literally add low-end pressure waves to a sound. You can even cause ear damage because it can super augment low end that your ear literally has never experienced. So, take it easy!

But Wait, Isn’t This Just EQ
Nope. WARP isn’t equalization. Instead, it automatically augments frequencies that live on an entirely separate audio path* from the main synth engine. This frees up sonic headroom and allows for unparalleled synth sound quality.

Most sound design today puts 100% of the audio workload on the synth’s main stereo output. The problem is, there’s only so much bass you can fit in a mix—too much, and your high-end or midrange frequencies get pushed out. WARP technology bypasses this limitation.

Here’s how I use it: I usually cut out most of the lower end at the layer level, allowing me to push the synth louder. Then I add GRAVITY or BODY wherever I want. I can add as many sends as needed, with the only adjustment being the send level. The WARP MATRIX automatically calculates the correct frequencies, delivering much cleaner and tighter low end. You can even generate low frequencies on high pitched stuff like bells and stuff. It’s extremely powerful.

Here’s a pic of A.T.S. SKYFALL’s Seraphim V5 WARP ENGINES. The OSC window jumps around when there is GRAVITY present. I’ll admit to staring at that thing a lot!

Wow, it’s been forever since SKYFALL version 4.2 2 years ago! That thing sounds pretty terrible. A.T.S. SKYFALL today is armed to the teeth with much better sound.

I will be uploading new content and Synth Wars Series that will finally give us a one place stop to see who has the skills!

This is a remix from 11 months ago. The artist is Jillian Banks whose voice provided incredible guidance for me tuning the Air and SKY Warp Engines.!
