HS7.5 crashes DAW after removing its instance. Reproducible as follows:
CUBASE 15 SCENARIO 1:
create new project
create new instrument track with HS7.5
load Sonic Selection preset “80s Piano Layer” into HS7.5
close HS7.5 UI
reopen HS7.5 UI
while UI is open, remove the track or close project
->crash
CUBASE 15 SCENARIO 2:
create new project
create new instrument track with HS7.5
load preset “80s Piano Layer” into HS7.5
while UI is open, save project
close project
reopen project
close project
→ crash
REAPER 7:
create new project
create new track
insert HS7.5 into track FX
load preset “80s Piano Layer” into HS7.5
close HS7.5 UI
reopen HS7.5 UI
while UI is open, remove the track or close project
→ crash
- I choose always the same preset as anchor, but any preset would work
- Cubase randomly survives the scenario, repeated testing is necessary.
- Reaper is always crashing.
- Testing H7.5 the same way: no problems.
- Previous version of HS: no problems.
- So only HS7.5 is affected.
Tested on Windows 10, clean new software installation, appdata folders emptied, no 3rd party plugins, factory default config, software/drivers all up to date.

I mean, this bug is so obvious that it blew up in my face within the first minute of testing. And then it took me a whole day checking all possible causes to pinpoint the problem. Isn’t that actually the job of the testing team, before software release?*
