Halion Sonic 7 - Channel 1 sound reverts to a different sound on stop play

I have Channel 1 set to [GM 019] Rock Organ. Every time I stop my song, it reverts to [GM 079] Whistle. There are no programme change events showing on any track or on any channel.

Any ideas what else might be happening?

All other channels retain their assigned programs correctly

Does this happen when you “stop” the track or when you return to the beginning of the track?

If you start with any other instrument [GM XXX] does it revert to GM 079 on Stop?

If your DAW is like Cubase it could be that the program [GM 079] Whistle is selected in the Inspector.

Thank for your response. It’s when I stop the track.

With your second question, you seem to be onto something. It seems to only happen with [GM xxx] sounds. If I choose any other GM sound, it reverts to Whistle. If I choose any non-GM sounds, it doesn’t - it stays on the non-GM sound I’ve assigned.

Interestingly, though, it only seems to happen on channel 1, not the other channels.

Thanks for your response. I am using Cubase 13. Not sure what you mean by “is selected in the Inspector”, though. Sorry if I’m being stupid.

Quick update: I tried this in another project. In this case, channel 1 was set to [GM 053] Choir Aahs. If I change that to any other GM sound, it reverts back to Choir Aahs.

In a third project, channel 1 behaved perfectly OK.

What do the two problem projects have in common? They were both originally created by importing (the same) previously-created Midi file. So I wonder whether some glitch in the importation has confused Cubase/Halion somehow.
