You need to check the permissions for the VST Sounds folder in /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Content
and make sure that all of the files and folders contained within are readable by all users and groups on your system.
Thanks you for the answer. I check, I think it is alright but the problem remain.
Please make sure that you activate the option to apply the permissions change to all enclosed items.
I checked everything thoroughly: everything seems fine. But strangely, when I open an old project, everything seems to work as before. However, in this project, I only have the vocals and piano, and Ondes Martenots. No string, no winds. I double-checked all the mutes and even reset the playback settings to factory defaults…
Did you try re-applying the playback template via Play > Playback Template?
Yes, I do at all steps.
I’m afraid I’m not sure what else to suggest. My colleague @Ulf will probably see this thread tomorrow and be able to offer you some further assistance.
Thanks for yours answers ! I will wait for @Ulf.
Hi @Maelbailly , so far you have just been looking at the path for preset files, the sound files with the raw sample data are stored elsewhere. See, preset files are one layer above the samples. They organize the sample data to sound patches that you can actually play on the keyboard or via MIDI. The errors you are getting are about missing sound files, not preset files.
So please go to /LIbrary/Application Support/Steinberg/Content/HALion/VSTSound and check there for the file permission.
Thanks Ulf. I check the way you say, and they are all « only readable » by « everyone ». Am I in the right file ? Must they be « readable and writable »?
I alsaw download by mistake son file from the Halion « not sonic » VST, then delete them. Maybe the trouble start here ? I reinstall all that I can reinstall after that.
Yes, that’s where the trouble started. Please reinstall all contents again.
You are talking about all Dorico 5 contents ?
Unfortunately yes, because I don’t know what exactly you deleted.
Ok, I try this again.
I don’t now how it happened, but now it’s work.
Okay, glad to hear that. And don’t hesitate to come back here should some trouble start arising again.
