! HALion!

Good afternoon! Help please, when installed Dorico Pro in the tab VST modules HALion framed as !! HALion !! demo files are not played (sounds crackle or random sounds) What should I do to play? Thanks!
This gave an error loading Halion and Groove audio modules
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (464,4 ΠšΠ‘)

Also I had reseted the audio engine settings.

This means that Dorico cannot find the Halion Sonic VST that has been specified by the Playback Template.

But it’s just installed along with Dorico… :frowning:

Hi @creadonyur ,
and please make sure that you really downloaded and installed every recommended package for Dorico5 in the Steinberg Download Assistant.

Just deleted Halion and Groove files via Download Assistant, then reinstalled. The effect is the same. In the Assistant it says that everything is installed. I have the demo version, just activated it today. Also uninstalled everything completely cleaned the registry, installed everything from scratch. The effect is the same. Dorico doesn’t like me!!! :smiling_face_with_tear:

Maybe the problem was with the folder control. I allowed Halion and Grove access to the folders and everything worked. Thanks for your help.

Started up the computer today and the situation happened again, although it seemed to have resolved yesterday.
vstscannermaster.exe.11556.dmp (500,1 ΠšΠ‘)
vstscannermaster.exe.15224.dmp (500,2 ΠšΠ‘)
vstscannermaster.exe.16940.dmp (500,1 ΠšΠ‘)
vstscannermaster.exe.20260.dmp (500,1 ΠšΠ‘)

Uninstalled both tools and reinstalled with separate distributions. The error disappeared. (Mystical)

Maybe that last post should be credited with the Solution tick (this does help readers understand quickly the solution to a problem without having to read the whole thread)

I’m sorry but this morning the error happened again, in half an hour I solved it thinking I had solved the β€œmystery” but after working successfully until this evening I rebooted Dorico an hour ago and the error reappeared, repeating everything I did this morning and yesterday I had no success but by chance I decided to disconnect my USB Hub (8 in 1) again and connect my Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 external card directly to the USB port C… And finally this was the definite cause. I checked - related to that aspect. But it’s not clear why the error is about unavailability of HALion and Groove instruments and not about unavailability of Focusrite, although the sound card provides general sound. Specialists will be able to figure it out, but the reason is definitely that the external sound card was connected through a hub and when Dorico is started, during device scanning HALion and Agent Grooves connection fails (all versions are latest). Only a midi keyboard (off) and an external sound card were connected to the hub.
