HALion3 loud then normal

Using Cubase 6 on a Windows 7 64-bit system with HALion3 and loads of other stuff.

I am frequently coming across an issue where I load an arrangment and a track played back by Halion 3 is too loud (by a long way). I then tweak the volume using my CC121 and nudge it by just 1 or two, and then back to the same position it was, and the volume is ok again?

Anyone heard of anything like this?

Just “spit-balling”, but do you have control room outputs enabled as well as outputs enabled too, in audio connections? Having outputs connected in both makes one lose control of volume. If not, then it still sound like it might be a feedback loop oriented issue.
