Hello Dorico community and developers,
I just wanted to share a quick thought about a rhythmic transformation feature that I think could be even better with a small adjustment.
Dorico already makes it easy to halve note values across a passage. With Insert Mode on, select the notes, then go to Write → Edit Duration → Halve Note Duration (or use Command/Control + Shift + Option/Alt + Left Arrow). The notes shorten, the rest of the music shifts, and the beaming updates. It’s a big time-saver.
The only issue is with tuplets, like eighth-note triplets. At the moment, they don’t scale properly and need some manual fixing. In other software I’ve used (like Finale), this kind of operation handles tuplets right away, with no extra work.
Dorico already does so much really well, but if tuplets could be included in this function, it would make the tool complete. For anyone doing a lot of rhythmic transformations, it would save time and make the workflow even smoother.
Thanks
