Handbell Notation for Small Ensembles

Like many folks here, I’m new to Dorico and stumbling my way around. I’m primarily a handbell composer, and I write a lot of music for small ensembles – 6 to 16 bells, both with and without accompaniment; or treble bells with choir. This means I’m usually writing for treble clef bells only. So far, I’m not seeing an option for that in Dorico.

  1. How would I go about deleting or hiding the bass clef line of a player that’s programmed for grand staff? Alternatively, is there a way to create or select only treble clef when I’m creating a new flow for handbells?
1a) If there isn’t, is there a workaround I can use in the meantime – perhaps a plain treble clef instrument I can add a name to later, or something like that?

  2. Best 2nd-party handbell plug-ins or templates for handbell notation? I’ve grabbed Larry Sue’s.

Layout options, Vertical spacing, staff visibility there is an option that allows you to hide staves in piano music. There is also a Treble staff in the Sketch category when adding players. By handbell plug-ins, do you mean vst instruments? If so, I’ve yet to find one I like (that I care to spend money on). This thread Handbell notation and playback has a handbell template I uploaded (with the various symbols used as playing techniques).
