Very long start up (I clocked 1 minute 30 seconds to 1:45 vs Logic 7 seconds)
Beachballs in start not strengthen confidence. License check takes exactly 40 seconds alone.
License check for content could not be completed -dialog appears every time starting Cubase. Clicking retry magically solves this, so its least annoyance.
Right click open Logical Editor from timeline MIDI Cubase crash.
Mac Studio 2022 Monterey 12.3.1, Cubase 12.0.10
Computer is not connected internet but IS connected local network for Vienna servers etc.
I’m been Cubase user from SX times and quite used to little complications over the years but hope/know it’s getting better. Mac Studio and Monterey is not without it own problems too.
In Monterey it seems there is no ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports folder.
There is no other logs generated from many of these freezes. Only eternal (?) beachball freeze = crash.
Created empty project with Cubase 12.0.10
When trying to open project it says:
“No valid License found. The program will quit now.”
And then at third try project magically open.
OK. Cubase is now open, lets try import tracks from other project… Beachballing/crash
Waiting about one big cup of coffee and I had to stop/kill Cubase from Activity Monitor.
Try to do something else then: Opening Cubase 12.0.10 gives dialog:
“The Application was terminated unexpectedly”
Those “beachballs” are really annoying because normally you do not see them except with Cubase and normally they are sign of something bad is happening.
Open Cubase = beachball
Open project = beachball
Import tracks from project = beachball
Delete track = beachball
Delete tracks also crash
Quit Cubase = beachball
Quit Cubase = crash
etc. etc.
I tested with connection to internet Cubase starts in 10 seconds!! WTH? Calling home?
Without connection to internet starting Cubase takes almost 2 minutes!
Normally my studio is NOT connected to internet, but IS connected local network for Vienna servers etc.
So Battery and Kontakt is faulty? Luckily they work just fine and only crash in exit.
Now I start to understand how to get info which plugin is cause of crash. I never had to do this before. Thanks. Martin.Jirsak
Other problems may not be related to NI.
Reveal in Finder in Pool is not working. It’s doing nothing.
When closing project you just saved, Cubase asks if you want to save. I just saved :((
How can be example all muted events selected in Project Window?
Can’t be done with Logical Editor anymore.
IMO old menu system was much more flexible and now all commands are buried unnecessary deep in menu.
Is there now two different Logical Editors?
Right click event on timeline and select Logical Editor you can open multiple windows. Just do it again and more windows opens.
Also; Apply Project Logical Preset windows opened from timeline is different than you can open from Project Menu and other one is not resizeable or can not be moved on screen.
Good thing with version 12.0.20 is it tell you which plugin is cause of crash.
First time ever I have to go back to previous version and hope all these problems in 12 get fixed soon.
Most of crashes are somehow caused by no connection to internet. I still have local area network connected.
