Hardware Acceleration on Video Playback

Videos in Cubase-
Why does it have to be H.264 / 1080p / 30 FPS? Since we are living in 2020s, 4K / 60 FPS videos have been more common in the market.

When you playback some videos in cubase, only CPU Works to decode the video because Cubase doesn’t support Hardware Acceleration(using GPU to decode the video)

Even Nuendo doesn’t seems to be supported (not perfectly sure about this actually, I’m Cubase user since 2007)

Video playback performance shouldn’t be limited to make clients send you footage that is less than 30 fps just so the software can handle it. Or to convert every asset sent to you to the “Acceptable” frame rate or codec or what have you.

Thank you.
