Trying to tidy up my AXR4T and UR28M related plugins.
I recall a while back via a Knowledgeable article that we had to keep two copies of DSP plugins because how things had been hardcoded name wise in the dsp plugins between Steinberg and Yamaha. So in my VST3 plugin directory on my mac I have two DSP plugin sub folders one for Steinberg and one for Yamaha with versions of the dsp plugins relating to both Advanced (AXR4T) DSP and Basic (UR28M) DSP plugins .
Now I have just updated to the latest V3.00 VST3 non dsp versions I notice that the dsp versions for Steinberg and Yamaha in the DSP sub folder have older versions. than their non DSP counterparts.
Am I correct in assuming these older versions relate directly to the non updated DSP-Mix app and are not affected by the elicensor expiry issue, given they have not been updated. They aren’t at risk of piracy because you need the hardware to use them.
The recent update to the Advanced and Basic Suite to V3.00 is therefore simply about ensuring the non dsp versions run with the online authentication manager and not the licensor . So presumably nothing else has changed in the plugin itself.
Can anyone confirm that apart from running natively these dsp plugins and non dsp plugins have the same algorithm (ie function and sound identical) despite the difference in age and version numbers? Or is there an update Ive missed?
My Versions hopefully up to date are:
Non DSP versions are V3…0 Oct 2024
Dsp Steinberg are V1.2.1 - June 2020
Dsp Yamaha are v 2.10 July 2022 (AXR4) and 2.30 Dec 2022 (UR28M)
Thanks
