Has anyone using smart:EQ 4 by Sonible and do you know about the tutorial how to use it in Cb14?
I am checking the tuts on YouTube but they are all on Pro Tools and I am having difficulties in loading the tracks to smart:EQ 4.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Contacting the company would be the best place to start.
As far as I can tell you set up groups in the plugin itself so it doesn’t matter that they use Protools, everything is in the plug so it works exactly the same after you loaded the plugs on to the tracks.
Sonible also provide a rather good manual:
I don’t think there is anything DAW-specific to this plugin.
I have, and the idea is the same regardless of DAW, there is no difference! Search for white sea studio Sonible Smart: EQ 4 on YouTube, he shows you how to set it up.
Load the plugin on all the tracks you want monitored, then within that, create a “group”, this can be your song name or keep it short, to “song”.
Then the plugin instances communicate behind the scenes as they are loaded on the same project to match the group name, then you can see the different channels where you can manipulate the EQ.
You probably should apply this to buses/groups/stems channels if that’s how you mixdown on the Cubase mixer instead of every single audio/instrument channel as that will slow down your project and no doubt introduce massive latency!
