Has VST Connect Development Been Halted?

Not being alarmist… just checking for confirmation or denial in regards to a assertion that was made by someone in a recent post in this section.

Quote:

I was able to follow some of the development as a tester and can see the potential in VST Connect.
Unfortunately, I also learned that this software will not be developed any further, or maybe not for the time being - who knows?

Could @musicullum or another Steinberg rep please either confirm or deny this?

More information would be helpful; this is not a hysterical reaction. But if VST Connect Pro is not going to undergo further development (i.e. bug fixes), I’ll pretty much be reluctantly forced to re-tool my remote workflow.

For the record, I’d hate for that to be the case; I have (despite the problems) found VST Connect to be a GREAT solution-- and have turned my bigger clients onto it as well.

Please respond with reliable info!

The last official update of VST Connect was around one and a half years ago.
The operating system of a Windows PC, for example, is constantly changing. Support for Windows 10 will end next year.
So far, in my opinion, Steinberg has always brought very good innovations and great tools. Always more possibilities and always more effective.
And has always responded to customer suggestions and wishes.
Why should that change?
Even if this software, like the old Cubase versions, were to be discontinued, there would certainly be Steinberg alternatives that would be even better.
I don’t actually know anything about it, but I could imagine it. At least that’s what I’d like to see.

Yes I have the same questions. I use VST Connect constantly. It is great software. But it most definitely could be improved. (monitoring with verb, etc.)

I’d just like to know if we can anticipate its core functions (HD file recording and retrieval, primarily) getting to be stable and more generally robust. These are significant issues.

And again, considering how much I use it in a very basic, one-track-at-a-time context when remote recording audiobooks, I’d love to be part of any program to identify and resolve those issues. I’ve definitely become intimate with the workarounds!

Performer has built-in effects for monitoring.

I know that. Nice feature. I’m talking about from my end. I only hear the vocals completely dry as they’re getting recorded. Ycchh. There’s no option for sending it to an internal or external fx unit.

Though I appreciate the desire for additional features (there’s certainly more to say about how to monitor FX on the Nuendo side), and I very much appreciate @musicullum participating in the thread, the OT remains unaddressed.

As the OP I’d like to see focus remain on the issue at hand!

I’ve issues to use Connect/Performer on the newest iPadOS.
Anyone with iPadOS 18.1.1, macOS 15 and VST Connect version 5 (version 4 isn’t ready for the new Steinberg licensing) without any issues on local networking?

Again, please, let’s try to keep this thread on-topic.

Your post deserves its own thread… definitely doesn’t belong here.

Thanks
