Having to change transpositions in parts like changing Co in Eb to Co in F

First problem:
I write a lot to wind orchestras and bump into problems with different traditions for different ensembles like “could we have the B-trumpet parts in C” or “could you change your Eb horn parts to F”.
What better tool than Dorico - I copy my whole document and do the wished for changes to print the optional versions.
But why do the cue notes print out in Engrave mode without the note heads in the SAME instrument group - meaning that in the 2nd horn part the cued 1st horn shows only the stems and sharps etc. but no noteheads (also in the newest version of Dorico 5)?
I have to clear the cue-in notes away and do the cueing with the lovely ear again.
Cues from other instruments show correctly but not for the instruments that I just changed, so like one horn to another.

Which gives me the problem number 2:

If I - for any reason - clear a cue away in the Write mode (cannot do it in the Engrave mode for some reason) and have hidden before the actual whole note rests from showing under the cue (reaching over the full length of a bar), I cannot find a ny other way to bring the hidden rests back - meaning that I cannot work with those bars emptied from the cues.
My only trick has been to copy empty bars from elsewhere to make the rests visible and the bars ready for editing again…

There must be easier ways to handle these two problems of mine.
Anyone got a hint?

I cannot reproduce the issue. I’m writing myself a lot of concert band stuff with horns in F and Eb and trombones with treble clef in Bb and bass clef. All cues are displayed and printed correctly even in the same instrument group.

What does that mean?

Usually you do the other transpositions in the same document with a new layout and Transposition Overriding.

  1. If you need to print some existing layout with a different transposition, you copy the layout and apply a transposition override: Steinberg

  2. For your second thing, I don’t think I’ve already understood what you are talking about. Could you send a (stripped down version of your) file that show’s the problem?

Thanks!
First of all, will study the override. Looks promising.

I did a little example of the other problem.
First two bars the violin cue for the cello shows the whole rests under the cue. Then, to “clean the cue”, from bar 4 removed the rests (cannot hide them or don’t know how to).
The other half of the example has the same bars but “for a reason” I decided to remove the last cue - but after removing the rests these two bars don’t responde to any action and there seems to be no way to simply add the rests back except copy two empty bars from elsewhere.

Untick Ends voice Property in Properties Panel.

You can disable bar rests in cues via Notation Options > Rests.
