One of my players is an electric guitar using distortions and power chords. How can I notate it in such a way that the playback captures sliding between power chords? Slur does not work. Fingering + slide in does work.
Dorico can play guitar bends using MIDI pitch bend, but it doesn’t presently play slides in the same way. If you use a glissando line, you’ll hear playback of rising or falling semitones (half-steps) but it won’t play a continuous slide.
IMHO the lack of continuous slide functionality is a major drawback. I wrote some string parts this morning, assuming that just HAD to be part of the fundamental feature set, but of course I get a series of discrete pitches instead. Back to Sibelius for that. Also, lesson learned for Dorico - don’t assume anything, so read about it here first…
