Help! Cubase suddenly crashes and no way back

Pfft. My UAD x8 eats my RME ALIVE - other than routing flexibility, component quality, latency, remote capabilities, driver stability, and privacy/account requirements I mean. BUT EVERYTHING ELSE is solid!!!

What have the Romans ever done for us?

Have you changed any of your settings, which Chris mentioned? The chosen driver, the buffer size, ASIO Guard on/off?
Some feedback would be great:

While steinberg are sorting the problem and the one that concerns the cc121 controller, I uninstalled the latest Cubase 14 and put in the last updated one and all is rock solid.
The Romans gave us long noses!!! lol. Roman all over yer face!!
I have asio guard on normal . I use Focusrite latest drivers 100% and 7 milliseconds buffer setting.

Hi @JohnS , could you please post (PM) a screenshot from your Studio Setup/ Audio System and the Control Panel settings ?

I wonder how the built-in driver is getting in the way on your setup, although you are running a Focusrite interface. Is it possible that you are running it as a Windows audio device, and that you selected it as input/ output in the built-in driver setup? It should not crash anyway, but I expect a better performance if you select the Focusrite driver in the Audio Setup.
Thanks!

The built-in driver is visible in the crash dump, I should add. That’s why I’m asking for the screenshots and your audio setup. If you have not selected the built-in driver, it should not appear in the crash dump - so this would be a good hint where to look further.

Hi Chriss
I only use the Steinberg driver for working on midi on the Genos 2
I use the Focusrite driver when using wave files or Vst. I had timouts on both.
Now I have gone back one version and It has been 100%
I really need to wait and see what Steinberg has to say from Martin’s report back.
They may have fixed It In new update, but It Is not listed In the fixes Only the CC121/ other controller curser problem not going backwards on jog wheel.
