Help? Didn't copy my license number to activate and can't find it

I just bought Dorico 6 Elements. There was a really long number that I copied. However, then I had to copy and paste a shorter number. Now, I lost the longer number and can’t find it. So I get the “no license found” when I try to open up the downloaded app. Help is not available until Monday and I doubt that they will be back to me by then. Anyone know how I can find that number? Thank you!

Welcome to the forum.

When you purchased the software, you received an email from Steinberg Checkout containing instructions along with the Download Access Code (DAC). It looks like this:

Did you follow those instructions? To be pedantic, you don’t use the code to “Activate” the software, you use the code to prove you purchased it and to register the license into your account. Once you’ve entered the DAC and downloaded the software, just go into the Steinberg Activation Manager (SAM), find Dorico 6 Elements in the list of licensed software, and then activate it on your system. Should work fine.

Thank you! There was a delay in getting that email. I did all the other stuff before I got that very detailed email. I’m all set right now.

I usually take a screenshot of the codes. (WinKey+PrtSc on Windows, and saved in Pictures\Screenshots). And copy and paste codes into a Notepad text file. And save the email as a text file.
I’m a belt and braces kinda guy.
