Help needed: Cubase 5.5 causes crackles

Cubase 5.5 causes crackles when certain editor windows are open or VSTi windows are open (seems random).
Once the windows are closed it stops. Specifically any window that is drawing a bar or lights / knob turning on the VST inst /fx window.

Has anyone a solution please.

It could be a corrupt plug-in or instance. Try removing (not bypassing) VSTs from your project one-by-one until the problem goes away. Did you just update from a previous version? Perhaps the install didn’t execute properly. It could also be a buffer overrun. Please post you DAW configuration here as well.

Hi thank you.
It is editor windows and vst windows doing this, not all plugies crackle when the inst window is open.
Also it has happened since Cubase 4. I have deleted the plugies and re-inst’ed.
Example, in midi edit windows , dragging the midi note longer will cause crackles. So when the window
has a redraw function or the vst has animation it crackles.
