Here is a fantasic Cubase tip I never knew!

It’s a good one, you’ll use it every second!

Normal behaviour: When you want your locator to go to a particular spot, you must go to the ruler, or if your a super cool :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: use shift+option and click (default in Preferences/Editing/Tool Modifiers/Select Tool/Select Cursor Position).

Want to be even cooler?

Preferences/Transport/Locate when clicked in Empty Space.

After you save this, all you need to do is click an empty space in the Project Window and voila your cursor joints you. If you click on an event, then Cubase selects the event as normal.

Can’t believe this is not on by default.!

Thanks a lot! :+1:

It’s nice - until you want to de-select a part, which I do by clicking in the empty space…

I assigned Select None to the Esc key, and that works well too.

Ctrl Click deslects events here.

…but not ALL of them at once.

Isn’t it marvellous to find one of the many hidden gems in Cubendo?

I have been working with this DAW for decades and to this day I still discover features I have never heard of. It amazes me every time :+1:

yep, tha’s how i roll too except I have the ‘U’ key mapped to select none, as I think of it as Unselect

I think I might have actually known this at one time, but obviously my brain keeps on degenerating…

The “locate when clicked in empty space” I never liked, the alt+shift-click is really nice, except the default key modifier is really impractical if you use are a left hand mouse user. Luckily, we can change it!

Thanks for the reminder, maybe I remember to actually use it!
