Hide a measure

Hello everyone,

How do you hide a measurement and get the result like the attached example?

Thank you
:notes::musical_note:

“The example was created with the finale software”

Cut away Scores are not yet supported, but are on the radar. There are a couple of workarounds, but no native solution - yet!

Indeed, I found a solution to obtain it, that is, by creating a frame with a white background, but you don’t get a precise result as happens in Finale and also in Sibelius.
We hope that the Dorico programmers integrate this function as soon as possible, which in many cases can be useful.

Thank you

Ciao @ruggierobotta, you can easily obtain this (on single staff projects, or for all the staves at the same position*) using a hidden Coda (with increased gap) and an invisible clef:

Result and workflow:

Another method (a little more cumbersome, but can be applied to single staves/bars in a multi staves project ), is to hide the bar with something: use a 2 lines Staff text, with avoid collision deactivated, with white foreground and white background, and with erase background activated (with fine adjusted paddings), positioned in the middle of the staffand edited bar numbers:

Dorico file example 2:
cut away imitation example with erase background staff text.dorico (460.5 KB)

Ciao @Christian_R ,

I also use the systems you indicated to me, but they are more “difficult” solutions and the result is not graphically precise as can be obtained (easily) with Finale.
Sibelius has another way to get it, which is also valid, but the final one is better.
We hope to add this feature in future d-orico updates.

Thanks anyway

The coda method should work perfectly, @ruggierobotta. You merely need to hide the coda marking via the Properties panel.
