It is not unusual for me to finish a guitar part (which normally wants chord symbols shown) which has a tacet section (multirest) where the chord symbols collide above the multirest.
So I have to turn off chord symbols by default and use “show chord symbols in slash regions”, which is fine, except that if I have an occasional short section of explicit figures to play these are excluded and I must create a chord symbol region if I want the player to have some flexibility. Which means when I’m done there are probably a few bars I overlooked.
I suppose I could also disable multirests for the guitar, but this would lengthen the printed part. I wish Dorico would not show chords over multirests.

This has been requested before. At the moment, the best workflow is indeed to set the player to show chord symbols only during slash and chord symbol regions, and then use chord symbol regions to show chord symbols where necessary.
