Is there a way to do this? They’re just getting in the way with this particular project.

Yes. In the Marker Tool Window, there is a “Filter” menu.

No, there are not the same. Sometimes some users call “Markers” as “Cues”.
Then, sorry, there is no option to hide cues.

I would also ask for implementing a hiding option for cue points. I don’t need them, but the lines are irritating in montages with a lot of clips, e.g. podcasts.

Currently it is possible to hide the end cue point, by unchecking it from the Magnets menu.
In the next minor update, the same will be possible with the first cue point.
In a future big WaveLab update, some more explicit Show/Hide options will be added to the clip menu.
