Hi,
In my work I rarely use flows.
It would be helpful if by default Dorico hid flow titles UNLESS there is more than one flow.
Alternatively, make it possible to set it once for a project and not have to set it on every part. Perhaps on the entire score.
As it is, I must open ctrl-shift-L on every part and turn off the flow title. I must also select my layout, so if the flow header preference were in the layout, that would also work.
Thanks!!!
Make the edit you want to the setting in Show flow headings, then select a Score layout and hit Save as Default. Select a Part layout and hit Save as Default. (There are separate defaults for score and part layouts.) Then you’ll never see them again. In an existing file, you certainly don’t have to do it in every part either. In the right panel select the first part, then shift-click the last part to select all the part layouts. Then apply whatever flow settings you want to all the parts at once.

We plan to add an option along these lines in a future version of Dorico.

You can select all layouts in the list on the right in Layout Options, and change settings for all layouts at once.
When you create a new project from the Hub, there’s a button called “project will use multiple flows”. If you deactivate that, flow headings are hidden in the project for you.

Can you set that on existing projects?
Yes you can. Just select the desired layouts (on the right side of the Layout Options dialogue), and then follow the instructions suggested by @FredGUnn :
I feel sheepish. I never noticed the selectable items on the right side of the layout options dialog. It’s a fine solution to my problem.
Don’t feel bad. Dorico is very complex and very different from past programs. It takes a while to take it all in.
