Hello Dorico users
I’m trying to hide the rests around a cue. I just want to show the flute intro, without any clutter.
I know there is an option in Write/Engrave Mode called “Hide rests around cue.” But when I click it, it makes no difference. Nothing changes.
Am I missing something, please?
Thanks
You can change the length of the cue – is this what you want?
EDIT: The option to hide rests around cue works only on rests outside of the cue, as the name says:
So to remove every rest around the cue, you would need to shorten it only to contain the notes, and then switch the surrounding rests off:
Thanks Michael @meixner
Very good of you to reply. I’m sorry for the slow response.
OK, I see now how it hides the rests. But I want to hide the big rests in the main part. It’s a choir score showing the orch intro. The less cluttered it is, the better they like it. In the end, I selected the rests and made them white. That worked.
Thanks again

It is perhaps simpler to select the last note/rest that you do want to show before the cue and activate its ends voice property. This will hide all the rests until your normal notes return.
Thanks. I’ll remember that next time.
