I have a full orchestral score that includes piano, celesta, and harp. I want to show all of the instruments on the first page, but not necessarily all the staves. On page 1, celesta and harp do not play at all and would love to show only the treble staff on the first page for my two-staff instruments that do not play at first (celesta and harp in this example) to save space. I have it set to hide empty staves after first system and “allow individual staves of multi-staff instruments to be hidden” checked, but the single-staff representation only occurs when the instrument has music in one staff on any page after the first page, but is there a way to also show only 1 staff on the first page for 2-staff instruments if the instrument (1) does not play at all on the first page or (2) has music on only one staff on the first page? I don’t want to select “All Systems” for hiding empty staves because I still want all the instruments shown on the first page regardless of whether they play on page 1. Thanks in advance.
I figured it out. Manual staff visibility… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpBcG5th7MI&t=88s
I also have to remember to do a “reset” to affective stave on page 2/system 2 onward. I am blown away by all of what Dorico offers once I have had the chance to learn it.
