Hiding Bars

Being able to filter out some staves is very helpful and I use this function daily.

Is there a comparable function to hide a range of bars? For example, I may want to look at only the introduction and ending of a piece without scrolling back and forth over a 100 bars or more, or compare the main theme on strings with its reprise in winds.

(Navigating is by far my biggest challenge because of the almost invisible scroll bars in Windows 11.)

My workaround is to keep a notepad handy with bar numbers of sections for the go-to command (CRTL-G). I understand it may be possible to jump using rehearsal marks, but I have never gotten that to work.

A reasonable way to compare parts of a project is to split the window (menu window) horizontally or vertically. Both window parts can contain independent views of the same project.

Open the jump bar, select the GoTo tab, type r plus the rehearsal letter, then Enter. (E.g., rx to go to rehearsal letter x.)

I have configured my key commands so that J always opens the jump bar in commands mode and Shift+J always opens it in GoTo mode. So for me, it’s Shift+J, rx, Enter.

Note that for some reason this doesn’t work in Engrave mode, only in Write mode. (You can use the jump bar to go to other things in Engrave mode, just not rehearsal marks.)

Thank you, @Vadian and @asherber. I will try both.
