Hi Daniel, this sounds great! I would love to have the option to erase (mostly sets of repeated) dynamics from the score but not the Key Editor, that way I can indicate “sim.” and still hear them play back. (maybe even have dorico change a set of dynamics into a printed “sim.” with a single command??)
I’d love to have the option of ‘hiding hairpin’.
Here, I have the fp<f in the 2 flutes and the fp<f in the 1st Oboe.
I think it would look much better, if I could hide the fp<f of the 1st oboe and it would still be clear that fl 1 & 2 and ob. 1 have the same dynamics.
I also would very much like this function! Lot’s of these sorts of issues in condensing, where the second set of dynamics are redundant in a condensed setting.
Even if the dynamics are for example and eighth note apart because a second voice has a different rhythm, for the sake of clarity in a full score, one set of dynamics is perfectly clear (as long as they are represented accurately in parts).
Would love a function to hide hairpins like we can hide immediate dynamics.
Yes! I want this too!
How is Dorico to know that one set of dynamics would be clear? What rules would you use?
Oh, no, I don’t think it should be an automatic function in Dorico. Just the ability to hide hairpins can allow for manual solves.
Otherwise, just thinking about your question, perhaps some sort of condensing setting like “Allow amalgamation of dynamics rhythmically(?)” with some sort for plus/minus rhythmical values or something. This could create potential solution for @HeiPet’s request as well.
