I know how to hide rests in an entire measure, but how can I hide some rests and leave others?
Click one rest you want to hide, then Ctrl/Cmd-click each of the other rests you want to hide, then Edit > Remove Rests.
It’s worth taking a look at `Library > Notation Options > Rests first, to see if there are settings that better align with what you’re looking for.
The key here is that remove rests only applies to whichever rests you have selected, so if you don’t want all of them within the measure to disappear, then do not select the whole measure, but rather specific rests.
How do you specify SOME (and not others)?
Are you selecting them?
If the Remove Rests… Menu doesn’t give you the desired results, you could do it in a nerdy way by setting their opacity to zero. This can be found in the Property Panel at the very bottom “Color”
Please don’t.
Use the proper command to do exactly what you’re wanting.
Command / control click allows you to select more than one rest at a time. It’s not that hard, ladies and gentlemen. Basic computing stuff here.
