Scroll in the Project Window using Shift + Scroll Wheel. Observe the direction.
Open MixConsole and make sure you have enough channels so that all does not fit.
Position the mouse somewhere where it doesn’t affect any parameters and use the scroll wheel.
Expected result: Scroll direction should be consistent between Project Window and Mixer. Project Window is the natural scroll direction in accordance with all other DAWs and other applications where horizontal scroll is used.
Actual behaviour: The scroll direction is inverted in MixConsole.
Commenting in hopes that it helps to boost this post.
I’m surprised this isn’t a more discussed topic as it is probably the most un-intuitive aspect of Cubase/Nuendo. hopefully they can give us more customization in regards to mouse wheel scrolling/zooming, or at least make it consistent through-out the program.
Working with Cubase for many years I wondered if the scroll direction got inverted after the last update. My scroll direction is inverted but only in the mixer. Is that normal?
Just to be clear: are you saying that the scroll direction is the same in all window’s on Windows systems? If that is the case, this should be treated as a bug on macOS.
Yes, on Windows the same mouse wheel movement will scroll in the same horizontal direction in all windows. At least in all that I found so far.
To get a bit nerdy: There are two different scroll routines used in Cubase. While the direction is the same I notice subtle differences in how the scrolling is executed. MixConsole and project view use the same technique as far as I can tell but apparently on macOS there is a difference.
