How about the upcoming MacOS 26 Tahoe

What about the upcoming MacOS 26 Tahoe …
Either there are any ‘hints’ of Dorico’s functionality?

Given that Tahoe isn’t even officially announced yet, I doubt there’s any Dorico news on it, other than “it will probably continue work just fine”.

Looking at past releases of major MacOS updates, application developers (especially in the creative branch including DAWs and other music software) will most probably be like “Don’t update just yet, let us check compatibility first” and after a few months (at the latest) everything will be fine. It’s virtually always been this way as far as I can remember.

Tahoe hasn’t been released, or announced, or described by Apple yet! It won’t be officially released until September/October; and the Dorico team won’t provide any compatibility updates until after that.

There will of course be betas that you can download and test: but you can’t expect any support from Steinberg for any problems.

In short: if you want to get any work done: stay on your current OS until Tahoe is formally released. (And maybe a little bit after that.)

This time the post came even before the official announcement!

FWIW, Dorico appears to work without issue, both on Mac and iPad. (Mind you, last time around, I complete missed Dorico’s problem with Sequoia, so…)

@benwiggy Are you beta-testing Tahoe?

I’m on Windows, but even if I was on Mac, I wouldn’t be too concerned with desktop application compatibility given the way it has always been with major updates - from what I’ve observed over the last years, a little patience is usually all that’s needed.

What does matter to me this time is the next major iPadOS though, as that is announced to introduce long desired features which finally could make me feel like the device is addressing me as the grown-up person that I am - this will definitely require much more patience on my behalf to not jump right in once it’s there.

nicely quoted :slight_smile:

???
Whom did I - accidentally, it seems - quote?

I recall attempting to use the beta version of macOS Sequoia 15.4, but it was a total mess! Logic Pro and my external Evo 4 audio interface were acting up like crazy. I’ve been eagerly awaiting the official release of the updated version of Logic Pro for about a month or so.

I highly recommend waiting for the official release instead of trying any beta version of macOS. Trust me, it’s not worth the hassle!

English difficult Language for me :wink:
I meant your own quote, it brings it straight to the point. :+1:
