How about this another copy/paste inconvenience?

Why wont it just paste to the same tracks where i copied it? The alternative is to just select the top track last so it pastes on that track first.

It’s been like this for as long as I can remember and also reported multiple times (as far as I know) without any action being taken…

@jaysanchez311 You have to select the track 4 again before paste in..

That gives the position..

Hi @jaysanchez311

Thanks for your message.

There are two ways to copy and paste tracks:

  1. If you want to use the method shown in your example, please make sure the first track containing the events to be copied is selected before tapping the Paste button.
  2. Alternatively, tap and hold the dot located in the middle at the end of an event, then drag to the right to easily create copies.

See both clips below to watch these methods in action.

Hope that helps!

Best,
Lars

@LSlowak If you put volume down from the event you cannot use these dots for copying.

Perhaps it could be fixed in future?

Yes i assume this is exactly what we all do. That’s why i just called it an inconvenience and not a bug or a fail. It’s an extra step. Is there any other purpose why you would paste events on other tracks and why would cubasis automatically add tracks at the bottom? Just paste it where i copied it. How complicated is that? Garageband does exactly that and it’s a free app!

I think the idea could be if you want to copy special midi parts to other instrument tracks. In this case you have to select the track too were you want to paste this part..

But youre right, for multiple tracks you normally don’t need this..
