I have reinstalled windows 11, but the problem remains.
What’s the problem?

Hi,

As written in the message: Please check permissions of the given folder.

You have to have permissions to write.

Please, write a meaningfull description of your post.

I didn’t get this message before. And at some point, I started getting this message, but I’m not sure why. The bigger issue is that I don’t know what folder it is or its path. Do you know where I can find the path to that folder?

Hi,

Some other installation (or a Windows update) might change the permissions.

You can find the path in the Steinberg Library Manager.

Hi,

Try this

  1. Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
  2. Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings.
  3. Under Controlled folder access, select Manage Controlled folder access.
  4. Switch the Controlled folder access setting to On or Off.

Thank you for all the help. However, there was one issue I hadn’t realized. Recently, my HDD failed, and I had set my ‘Documents’ folder to be stored there. Since the drive no longer existed, this caused the problem. Even after reinstalling Windows, the folder path wasn’t reset. I manually corrected the path for the ‘Documents’ folder, and now the issue is resolved.

Hello,
I have the same problem with Halion Sonic
“Your document folder is not accessible! You might not be able to save presets. Please check permissions and your “Controlled Folder Access settings”

My system does not allow access to the “Folder Access settings”

How did you manage to manually corrected the path for the ‘Documents’ folder ?
Thanx

This is Windows 10, but I believe it’s still the same in 11.
Right-click the “Documents” folder on the left side of the Explorer, select “Properties” to get this dialogue. Press the “Move…” button, select a location, in the dialogue that follows, select the option to copy files (even if there are none!), click OK.

Hello Googly_Smithe,
Hello, and thank you very much for taking the time to reply.
It seems to have been working recently; I reinstalled almost everything with Steinberg Download Assistant before receiving your reply.
Thanks again, and we’ll see tomorrow morning…
