how can I forcefully show the whole rest in the down-stem voice for this specific case?

I want to draw the following bars:

However, I am confused about the reason why the whole rest in the down-stem voice in the second bar is hidden as follows:

How could I forcefully show the whole rest in the down-stem voice for this specific case?

Have you input any notes in that voice (the down-stem one) in subsequent bars? If I remember correctly, that option applies to rests between notes/explicit rests in a voice.

Ah, thanks! The rest appears after inputting notes in that voice after 8 bars. That was the reason!

In a particular spot, if the downstem voice already exists elsewhere in the staff,

Note input
change to downstem voice
Shift-B
type “rest”
